Eden Prairie Real Estate - Housing Statistics - November 2007
December 31st, 2007 Categories: Eden Prairie Current Housing Statistics, Real Estate News, Twin Cities Real Estate Economy
Here are the latest statistics from the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors for Eden Prairie. The chart explains itself, but in a nutshell, there were 41% more single family homes on the market in November this year than last year.
In December, many homes will have their listing expire only to wait until after the holidays. The housing affordability has not been this good since 2004, according to the association. I believe that we’re near the end of the price cuts, too.

A Wild Hockey Week to Remember! Could this Be the Year Minnesota Drinks From the Stanley Cup?
December 21st, 2007 Categories: Minnesota Wild, Real Estate News, The Good Life
OK, I’ll admit I have season tickets to the Wild games. I can thank my fanatic hubby for that. I usually go so that I can get a nice dinner at Kincaid’s, Pazzaluna or the St. Paul Grill ahead of time.
This week, however, I’ve enjoyed every darned minute of the games. Is it because they’ve won the last two games I’ve watched? You bet it is!
Tuesday, December 18th, they came back from a 0–2 score against the somebody Predators to win 3–2 in the third period.
Tonight…well…it will go down it Minnesota history for all of the Wild fans, as well as, all hockey fans…Marion Gaborik scored not only a hat trick, but 5 goals in one night. Now that’s a big deal!
I can’t wait until this Saturday!

Does Your House Have “Pop”? New Buzz Words in Marketing Your Home
December 17th, 2007 Categories: Home Style, Outside of the Box, Real Estate News
The latest buzz word in the real estate world these days is “pop”. What does “pop” mean anyway? I’ve seen tons of homes lately that are just “ho hum”. Where did all of this lingo come from?
When I was a kid, “pop” meant a can of soda. Some people think “pop” means to smack somebody in the face. Or, maybe it meant smack somebody in the mug. Which, sometimes, pop actually does comes in a mug. Like root beer. Remember A&W Root Beer? That was pop that came in a mug.
“Space” is another buzz word that we hear when speaking about homes. Space is a room. Let’s call it a room. Space is up in the atmosphere. Space is an empty area that has air and not much else going on. Realtors and stagers comment, “What a great space!” “We can do so much with this space!”
I’d like to pop the folks who overuse the word “space”. I’d like to have some space from the people who use the word “pop” to describe the space that needs a bit of help in refurbishing a dull, boring room.
I know that the stagers and designers of the world would like to keep things fun, light and interesting, but it’s time that they think of a couple of other words besides “pop” and “space”.
