Lucky Me, I’m a Realtor in Minneapolis!
April 27th, 2008 Categories: Minneapolis Home Buyers and Sellers, North Minneapolis, Real Estate News
I have awesome sellers! They know that the market has shifted. They know what they need to do to get their homes looking in tip-top shape. They know that they need to be competitive in this market. They know that I will be there for them and communicate with them at every turn.
Here is one of my favorite listings because of my client’s forthright effort to get her home perfectly posed to sell. She rocks!
This one is in North Minneapolis. She has worked very hard on it. It’s a beauty!

Golf Course Dream Home Without the Kitchen Sink in Eden Prairie

Eden Prairie Golf Course Hijinks
Yes, it’s true. We knew it before we saw the property. (Because I make an effort to inquire about properties that the bank owns, or I think it owns with the Realtor who lists this property.)
Some Realtors in the Minneapolis area, unfortunately, are not up front about the status of their listings…..BEWARE OF THAT!
It still was amazing when we arrived to see the lack of light fixtures, doors, appliances, and…no kidding…lack of a kitchen sink. The guy was serious when he vacated!
Who knows what really went “down”, but the bottom line is, we sure had a laugh seeing the equivalant to the movie, “Moving”, with Richard Prior.
Lesson: Call on every single property that you are going to show to your buyer. PERIOD.

The first quarter of 2008 is gone for good. The real estate market picked up from the fall, of course. It always does. But how did Plymouth fare compared to the same period last year?

Minneapolis Buyers: What Would It Take You To Buy a Home Right Now?
April 17th, 2008 Categories: Real Estate News
What would it take you to buy a home right now?
I see lots of benign questions about where to live, etc.I bite my tongue and don’t say too much. And I pretty much read every post. However, I would love to spill my guts about the Minneapolis area to you guys.
Some things I don’t say because it would be illegal and some things I don”t say because it’s just plain rude. Here’s my question: If you had anywhere to live, including the suburbs, and the type of home you would like to have, what would it be?I am a Realtor and have seen lots of negative comments about us.
That being said, just spill it. I want my clients to look to me for help and professionalism. What do you want?…seriously. What would it take you to buy a home right now?

Our buddy, Renate Barber, Maple Grove, MN, is now a U.S. citizen!
Woo Hoo! She’s the cutest little doll in her 50’s in the Twin Cities. I dare ya to challenge that statement! Congratulations, Renate!
All the best, Renate!

Moving from Chicago to Minneapolis - Where to Go to Meet New People?
April 6th, 2008 Categories: Cool Guys, Real Estate News, Taste Minnesota, The Good Life, Twin Cities Home Buyers
I was posed this question by a fella from Chicago…
I have accepted a job in Minneapolis (Downtown), starting mid-July 2008. I currently live in Chicago (10 years now), originally from So. FL–guess the next move would have to be Canada to keep up with the trend!
A little about me: I’m 28, single guy (straight), making good money. Basically, I’m looking for the hippest and hottest places to live, learn, and meet new people. Access to Food, Music, and the Arts are very important. I’ve heard Uptown (Lake/Hennepin) is THE place to live for all three. Downtown (Nicolet) has also been mentioned as a good place to live. Closer to downtown the better. Any thoughts?
I am very excited about this new opportunity, and greatly appreciate any advice and additional sources of information.
Here’s my response… Read the rest of this entry »
