Here’s My Friday Insight From My Awesome Personal Trainer in Plymouth, Minnesota
May 30th, 2008 Categories: BNI Full Circle Chapter, Cool Guys, Plymouth "News", Real Estate News, The Good Life
Luke Carlson, my personal trainer and owner of Discover Strength in Plymouth, knows that I work hard physically to maintain some sense of a decent body at the ripe old age of 54. It helps me in my personal life, but it totally helps me keep my stamina and good nature in my real estate life here in the Twin Cities. Here’s my (and could be yours) personal trainer’s latest for everyone to learn from…
Insight from Dr. Stephen Covey on Exercise
Mounting evidence suggests that proper exercise is as important for our mental acuity as
it is for our “bodies.” Dr. Stephen Covey, internationally respected leadership
authority, organizational expert and best selling author of “The Seven Habits of Highly
Effective People” contributes to this idea and comments on the importanceof exercise in
his latest book “The 8th Habit.” Covey writes, “I am convinced that exercise increases
our own sense of self-control and self-mastery, which enhances the totality of our lives
and truly enlarges the space between stimulus and response (Note: Covey describes the
space between stimulus and response as our freedom and power to choose our response - and
in these choices lie our growth and happiness).” Interestingly, Dr. Covey also comments
on the importance of strength training to the point of muscle failure stating “This is a
great metaphor for the other three dimensions of life as well. As we go to the end of our
tether, our capacity to do increases. Emerson put it this way: ‘That which we persist in
doing becomes easier, not that the nature of the thing has changed, but our ability to do
has increased.”
Every Friday, Discover Strength will email a “Fit Tip” to all clients. Tips will be brief and science based, covering health & fitness topics in strength training, cardio-respiratory training, flexibility, nutrition and athletic performance.
Don’t hesitate to check Luke and his awesome team out for a free trial. You’ll be amazed at the results! I never thought I would do anything like this and I’m so glad that I did!

Trust. It’s a Big Deal for This Realtor in Minneapolis, That’s For Sure. Let’s Talk Dual Agency.
May 22nd, 2008 Categories: Minneapolis Home Buyers and Sellers, North Minneapolis, Real Estate News, Twin Cities Home Buyers
Who do you trust, buyers? How about you, sellers? I just did a dual agency transaction. My seller in North Minneapolis wasn’t thrilled. My buyer wasn’t too concerned. Do I care? ABSOLUTELY!
Well, I think everybody’s happy. I’m not sure. Paranoia runs deep. When we do a dual agency transaction, we Realtors have a duty to the sellers and buyers to make sure everybody’s on the same page.
Best wishes to my buyers and seller!

Uh Oh! Here We Go Again! Good Times in the Keller Williams Parking Lot
May 14th, 2008 Categories: Keller Williams, Maple Grove Police Department, Maple Grove Stuff, Real Estate News
Here we go again. This is the fourth accident this sweet little car of mine has been in since I bought it 3 years ago. All of the accidents were during real estate related activities. Of course, that’s about all I do, so it stands to reason!
Anyway, some lady backed into my car while I was sitting in it this evening in the Keller Williams Realty Northwest parking lot. I got out and tried to flag her down. She just sort of looked at me funny and took off. I got her license plate, though. I called the very polite and pleasant Maple Grove Police Department. The policeman was a sweetie and we’ll do our best to track her down.

I know that I shouldn’t complain. I received three purchase agreements in the last two days on three different properties that I have listed.
Trouble is, I’m taking a short vacation to go to Chicago to see my kids this weekend. I figure it’s Mom’s Day and the fishing opener here in Minnesota, so should be smooth sailing, right? NOT!

When Is No Feedback Feedback and When is Feedback No Feedback? How Some Twin City Area Realtors Answer My Request for Feedback
May 5th, 2008 Categories: Keller Williams, Minneapolis Home Buyers and Sellers, Real Estate News, Twin City Sellers
Fortunately for me, I have a nifty computer program to request feedback from Realtors who have shown my properties around the Twin Cities. It’s called ShowingDesk and it’s a real assistant to me. I can get the feedback published and send it off to my clients in a nifty little report. It goes to the agent who showed the property almost immediately after the showing. All they have to do is Read the rest of this entry »
