Bullet Holes and Duct Tape in North Minneapolis

Bullet Hole in Northside HomeIn the past week I’ve had the pleasure of showing off my client’s new TJ Waconia flip at 3306 James Avenue North to one of North Minneapolis’ most insightful residents, Johnny Northside.

We spent an entire day together scoping out different aspects of his neighborhood, Hawthorne, to be exact.   We made a few sudden stops to check out the homes that had unknown visitors lurking about.  Johnny wants to make sure that the people  there are supposed to be there and not making off with copper and other belongings of the residents.

We also saw some beautiful homes that have been well-kept, the eco-village and the tree nursery in the neighborhood.

We saw shoes tied together strung over utility lines, empty lots where houses have recently been bulldozed and a home called “Water World” that actually no longer has any water.

Johnny takes pictures of everything.  And I mean everything!  He is a prolific blogger and always has interesting pictures for each of his entries.  If a blog doesn’t have pictures, well, it’s not going to be read!  It would be like a home listed on the MLS of Minnesota for sale without pictures.  Come to think of it, a lot of homes only have one picture.  Is the home with pictures more interesting or the home with just one picture?  You get the picture.

On the day that we had our excursion, Johnny and I each took a picture of a silly property repair.  Click here to see that blog post.  Above is my picture taken from a close up angle.  I will have to do a comparison to see which picture shows the most detail.

I never really thought of comparing the pictures on my blog to pictures on the MLS but…you’re right, Jeanie.
