Reason #1 Why Plymouth, MN is Rated for Best Places to Live in the U.S.

I haven’t been able to drink coffee for several years due to my sensitivity to caffeine. A couple of months ago, I’d thought I’d give it a try just to see how I felt.My Favorite Cup of Coffee

I had a couple of gift cards to Caribou and Starbuck’s. I just like good ole’ black coffee. None of this fru fru stuff for me! The coffee was good. Just good. Nothing to rave about. The good news was that it wasn’t affecting me like it used to.

A couple of years ago Dunn Bros Coffee opened in Plymouth at the corner of Vicksburg and Hwy. 55. They have a secret Read the rest of this entry »

“You Smell Good”…There are Angels in Wayzata!

Angel in WayzataI got off to a bad start this morning what with a purchase agreement that’s been pending for too long and other various annoying events.

I picked myself up by my bootstraps and headed down to Wayzata to go grocery shopping at Lund’s. As I was checking out, a nice young man, who was packing my groceries said, “You smell good.” I can’t tell you how that one little sentence lifted my spirits!

He’s an angel.

Moving from Chicago to Minneapolis - Where to Go to Meet New People?

I was posed this question by a fella from Chicago…

I have accepted a job in Minneapolis (Downtown), starting mid-July 2008. I currently live in Chicago (10 years now), originally from So. FL–guess the next move would have to be Canada to keep up with the trend!

A little about me: I’m 28, single guy (straight), making good money. Basically, I’m looking for the hippest and hottest places to live, learn, and meet new people. Access to Food, Music, and the Arts are very important. I’ve heard Uptown (Lake/Hennepin) is THE place to live for all three. Downtown (Nicolet) has also been mentioned as a good place to live. Closer to downtown the better. Any thoughts?

I am very excited about this new opportunity, and greatly appreciate any advice and additional sources of information.

Here’s my response… Read the rest of this entry »

Ahhh…Finally, a Day Off! Cooking Up a Storm…The Day in the Life of a Busy Realtor

Chef’s HatAfter six weeks of sitting the Parade of Homes and taking care of my sellers, it’s finally Easter weekend.

OK, I spent four hours in the office today (ask Jen Crockett at my Keller Williams Market Center…I was there!) but I still felt like it was a bit of a vacation. I haven’t figured out why I feel that way. Maybe no appointments. Maybe I figured no one would call me. Maybe I figured everyone else was busy with their families for the Easter holiday weekend.

Here’s what I did when I got home at 3ish… Read the rest of this entry »

Plymouth and Maple Grove: Where Did All the Restaurants Go…Big Changes in the Northwest Suburbs?

The slow death of the Minneapolis suburban northwest restaurants.

Hopps, Doolittles, Krispie Creme, Friday’s, Rudolph’s in Plymouth, Green Mill in Maple Grove…what else? I can’t recall. Well, I know there are a lot more. Don’t feel like mentioning any more. Anyway, they’re goners.

When my husband, Tony, and I first moved to Minnesota, we used to go to Read the rest of this entry »

Where to Drink the Best Bloody Marys Around the Twin Cities.

Bloody MaryA Bloody Mary cocktail is my favorite drink. Mostly because I drink one before I have dinner at a restaurant in town and I’m usually starving! I get really crabby when I’m hungry and this is the perfect drink to take the edge off. It will usually be served with a couple of olives (hopefully, stuffed with bleu cheese) with the richness of tomato juice. at least I feel like I’m getting some nourishment while I’m waiting!

The best Bloody Mary that I have ever tasted is my own. Read the rest of this entry »
